Kim, So glad all went well! As for the sipping, use the little medicine cups to drink your water, makes it easier to sip and not gulp.  I used medicine cups the first two weeks per doctors orders, then went to small cups and now sipping is instinct! AB

I can't believe how much air I seem to be swallowing when I drink.  Who knew?  I think I breathe to much when I'm drinking so I'm trying to hold my breath.  Sounds kinda dumb but maybe that will work.  Now if I could just get to that 64 oz goal!  Thanks for the suggestion.  I'll give that a try!

I had that air swallowing problem, too. I know this was backward, but using a straw for me prevented me from swallowing air. I spoke to Erica, Dr. Nelson's PA, and she said if it worked better for me to prevent all the air swallowing that it was OK ... but that it worked just the opposite for most. I guess my mouth, breathing and swallowing is different than most. But, if I just sip without a straw, I get more air than water no matter how hard I try.
Blessings and Best Wishes! Shelly

I've been considering a straw.  It seems like you would get less air that way but what do I know?  I might as well give it a whirl.  Thanks for the suggestion.

I had pain on my left side also and still do. As for the sipping it takes practise. If you do gulp you will never do it again. Trust me I did and I hd foamies from it and it came up faster than it went down. And for the tushie getting smaller for others...lol becareful of what you ask for cause when you lose that padding its gonna start hurting when you sit for long periods of time.
being healthy has its rewards....take the challenge and just do it

I can't believe you still have the pain this far out!  Yikes!  Dr. Walton said it could persist for up to 6 weeks and I thought that sounded bad enough.  I guess that is the area they put the instruments in and then he said they put in a stitch and that it takes up to 6 weeks for it to dissolve.  I guess it pulls.  That's exactly what it feels like.  But it's all worth it while I drop the lbs!  Thanks for responding!

I call it the phantom pain. I have some folks in my support group that are 2 and 5 years out that still have this phantom. To me it has all been worth the 187 pounds gone.  Glad you are home and it will get better...

Quoting Patty..... "I had pain on my left side also and still do. As for the sipping it takes practise. If you do gulp you will never do it again. Word for word I had the same thing, even the problems with the tush now.  I cant even sit through a movie in the theater anymore without shifting 100 times.  And I havent even gotten anywhere near my goal weight so that tells you one of the first areas the fat comes off at.  My side still hurts but then I fell 3 weeks ago in the shower and came down hard on my left side.  I think I bruised or fractured some ribs.
