Glitter Gal has landed - home on and the Loser's Bench!

I just got home.  I had to shower first but I wanted to let you all know I'm firmly seated on the Loser's Bench.  Thanks for making room for me.  Hopefully, my buns will be shrinking to make room for the next arrivals.  All in all, it was a good experience.  The care at WeightWise was fabulous, just as expected.  The only surprise?  More pain on the left side than I had expected.  Asked Dr. Walton what he did over there!  And it's much harder to drink than I thought.  I'm a gulper, not a sipper but I'm learning.  Now that I'm off the IV, I have to keep those fluids up! Well, here's hoping I'm losing fast!  I'll check in with all of you later.  And thanks for being so wonderfully supportive.  I do appreciate it more than you'll ever know! Much love to all,  Kim

Hooray Kim! I'm so happy for you!

Yesterday was the first time I actually got in all 64 ozs. of fluids. It isn't easy for me!

Rest and walk. The left side of my abdomen/lower chest hurt worst, too. My nurse told me that everyone that had laprascopic WLS of any type always said the left side hurt the worst.

I hope you feel better and better every single hour! : )

Blessings and Best Wishes! Shelly

I'm worried about getting dehydrated.  I sure don't want to have to go back and get another IV.  I guess that hasn't been a problem for you?

Kim, I've usually averaged about 32 - 40 ozs. of fluid per day (not counting protein drinks or shakes). I've gradually been increasing, but it was just hard to keep forcing it when I didn't feel thirsty. I've never noticed any signs on myself of becoming dehydrated ... or close. But, I'm thinking that not getting in 64 ozs. daily may have helped slow my weight loss and encouraged my stall. Just a guess though!I'm really working on more fluids every day now... especially just plain water.

I emailed my nutritionist yesterday about my stall and told her my daily intake averages. She encouraged me to up my calories since I have a hard time even getting up to 700 calories per day. She'd like me to get 850 - 1000 to prevent going into starvation mode and metabolism slowing to a screeching halt.

I don't have any physical problems eating or drinking, I just get full so easily and don't always feel like drinking or eating more. Believe it or not, eating has turned into quite the chore and a necessity .... rather than a big focus of my daily life! Yes, I'm totally in shock about that. ; )

Blessings and Best Wishes! Shelly

Kim, you shouldn't get dehydrated as long as you sip, sip, sip all day long. It gets easier and you can take bigger sips later on.

Welcome to the bench ~ we've been waiting for you.  Of course you have to have shrinking buns to allow for the new arrivals (how do you think we made room for you LOL)!  Hope you're feeling better in no time.   Wendy

Hey Anna - you really have had a text book surgery.  Or maybe I'm textbook because I have the left side pain!  I can tell you that liquid Lortab is my friend even though it's about the worst tasting stuff I've ever had!  Thanks for the well wishes!  I hope to see you soon.  And I'll be skinnier than the last time you saw me!  Hee!  Hee!  Hee!
