Hey guys! So, I'm getting geared up for my surgery and have decided to start REALLY practicing my sipping so I'm at least a little used to it (I LOVE TO CHUG WATER!). Well, I went to Wally World the other day and on the aisle with the cute, brightly colored plastic dishes and picnic stuff that is so cheap, there were these water bottles that hold 30+ oz and clip on your waiste (in case you go rock climbing). It was only $3 and you can't chug out of it!!! I know because I tried!!!!! I can't NOT sip out of it. I'm pumped!!! So...this is me practicing for the next 2 weeks. Can't wait!!!

I'm ALWAYS scoping new water bottles, cups, etc. I bought one of those little ones that look like water  bottles on water coolers. I also bought the ice tube ice trays to drop into the sports bottles. What I drink to get my water in is Crystal Light and lotsa ice!

Hey Cat! I love the Crystal light! Last night I was at the store and found sugar free hawaiian punch packets for bottled water!!! I was SUPER excited! :) I love that stuff, and so does my little fella, but I don't like giving him all that sugar. SO...I've just solved all the world's problems! ;)

At work, I freeze about 20 oz. of water in a quart plastic jug. Then I pour whatever I'm drinking on top of the ice. The ice lasts about half a day.

Great job! I'm using an old Weigh****chers 32 oz. water bottle/jug. I could use a new one.

I wish the very best for everyone having upcoming surgeries!!! : )

Blessings and Best Wishes! Shelly

Thanks! Keep up the good work, yourself!!! And go check out tha****er bottle! I love love love it! :) The part that I just can't stand is that I am actually sipping and I'm just having a rough time getting it all in. I did, however, practice not drinking for an hour after lunch, and I surprisingly survived! Wasn't that huge of deal to me. I know it will be difficult from time to time and probably especially not long after I have surgery. But...I'll make it!!! :) I'm really glad I made the decision to start practicing though...maybe 2 weeks from now, it will be an old habit that I can't break!!!

Good idea to learn to sip now.  Apparently drinking too fast can cause isues with reflux.  I called Dr. Walton's office this AM to ask for something other than Prilosec for reflux since I was having a big problem.  When Braqndy called me to say they had called in my RX she said Dr. Walton wanted me to know drinking too much or too fast can cause big reflux problems.  I suspect that is part of my trouble.  Since surgery drinking has not been an issue.  No pain and no discomfort so I thought I was just lucky.  Apparently not.
