Okay gang!  I did really well on Week 1 No Evil Carbs - I jump started my slumped metabolism by cutting out over 90% of my carbs!!!  I was able to lose 6 lbs this week!!!  YIPPEE!!  Just to share what that means to everyone - yes - I have been eating carbs - remember how far out post op I am though as well!! But the yes, I have been known to consume them!  I cut them out last week - no breads, no tortillas, etc.  I increased my liquids and protein and wallllahhhh!!  Jump start of metabolism! So I am going to do it again!! Let me see what else I can accomplish! GlitterGal Kim D has surgery on Wednesday - please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.  Denise - I hope you are doing well - update us as you can!  Who am I leaving out??  Please be sure to update your surgery information if you are pending.  I know we have a few coming up and I do not want to miss anyone! Remember that the WeightWise Support Groups start up again on June 3 & 5th with Dr. Jayesh Panchall.  Make plans to arrive a few minutes earlier than normal, these support groups are going to be more highly attended due to Dr. Panchall's topic. Have a great week everyone!!

YEA !!! Good girl !!!!  I too seem to be challenged on getting my weight loss to post on my site.  I've tried over and over -- if anyone out there wants to help contact me.  I'm really beginning to feel challenged !!!!

Way to go!  I remember you talking about that on our walk.  I have been good w/ no carbs since my surgery.  But even after 4 and half weeks, the cravings still haven't gone away.  I would kill for some bread, pasta, or cheetohs!  I thought if you didn't have them for a few weeks, it broke the "addiction".  Guess some of us can't break it!  Dr. Panchall is the plastic surgeon?  I can't wait to see the before and afters!  I don't know if I'll ever have the guts (or money for that matter) to go through with plastic surgery, but after my deflated balloon look I've already got going on, I'm not ruling anything out!  Have a good Memorial Day!

That is geat Ruth!!!!! I will do the same thing with you again this week.  I did good myself and you can tell a difference when you don't have carbs in your life, that is for sure!  I enjoyed our walk Saturday with you and Diana.  I look forward to many more!!

Ok Ruth, You've got me curious.  I will try the "No Evil Carbs" venture too.  I feel as though I am in a slump.  I am still losing, but not as fast as I would like too.  I played around with the same 3 pounds for the last 3 weeks.  Got to get them off!!!  I am also going to join the health club at the hospital where I had surgery.  Good luck this week and GREAT JOB! Michelle

Congrats, Ruth!  I know it was hard for you to go cold turkey on the carbs.  Thanks for posting so we can all see how evil carbs really are! I am doing well post-op.  Will say more under a new topic. Denise
I have maintained for one year at this point.  I am steady at -120 pounds.  =)

Update - as of this morning which is exactly one week off EVIL CARBS it is actually EIGHT pounds.  I actually had a little bit of bread on Saturday and it made me ill!!!!  So ......yippee for me!!  I am back to 174 which is almost my lowest yet!!!  That means in order to get to my "NORMAL" BMI I need to be to 159 !!!!  ONLY 15 lbs left to goal!!!  The fact that I can even say NORMAL is freaking me out!!! I am so much more accountable when you guys help me with support!!  I hope that this site and forum as well as my own blogs help you as well!  I will be updating my blog on my own support site over the week.  There were some good articles in the OH Mag that I think everyone needs to see.   Don't forget everyone, our little walking group is at 8:30 am at Mitch Park in north Edmond.  Covell & Kelly, 3rd entrance on Covell West of Kelly.  We meet in from of the MAC (sr ctr).  I usually only wait until about 8:35 so get there on time!! LOL!!!! I hope everyone has had a relaxing and refreshing Memorial Day holiday.  Please remember to keep our military men and women in your thoughts and prayers for ALL that they do to make sure we can live in a safe and free country!!
