New to the OK group

I just started using this website a few weeks ago.  Still haven't figured out how to post my pic on my profile or paste my ticker.  I did want to introduce myself though.  I've seen that you guys get together on times other than the support group meetings, and I think that's great!  My husband wants me to meet other people who wouldn't mind talking about all the stuff that I'm going through since he really has no clue how it is.  Anybody have any advice about the whole photo and ticker thing?

Welcome to the Oklahoma WLS group!  You will find a very supportive, well-informed and fun group.  We talk a lot here on this forum and many of us come to both support group meetings during the month.  Some of us walk together on Saturday morning in Edmond at Mitch Park and we are trying to get together for dinner once a month.  Ok, so last month was our first dinner but we had a blast.  I'm a relative newbie but I plan on being around for a long, long time. I think support is going to be a very important factor in my success. My surgery is next Wednesday so I can't offer a lot of post-op questions just yet but I will be able to soon! As far as the ticker goes, Ruth or Rita will be along shortly to help you.  They are the Queens of the board, pretty much.  Those gals can answer any question you might have whether it's pre, post, or WeightWise questions. Glad to have you and please introduce yourself at the next support group meeting on June 5.  That will be the next pouch support meeting.  (lap band meets another night)  And our next dinner will be on June 18 at an as-yet-to-be-determined location! Ask away!  We are a family and here to help each other out! Kim

Thanks for the welcome!  I will definitely be at the support group meeting in June and hope to make it to the dinner as well.  What time do you walk on Saturdays and for how long?  and Good Luck on your surgery.  I had my doubts about having it for the first few weeks afterwards, but now I'm thrilled with my decision.

We walk on Saturday mornings at Mitch Park at 8:30AM.  We want to get it done before it gets too hot.  We've been doing the 2.8 mile path and we accommodate the slowest walker which is usually me.  All those other dang gals have lost 100 pounds!  LOL!  But we have a good time.  It takes about an hour and we chat the entire way.  Before you know it, we're done and we've solved the world's problems! Everyone is welcome!  The more the merrier! That Harris2 is fabulous with her links!  I don't know how she does.  But now it's time for your picture so we'll know who you are! Kim

I will definitely be looking for you guys at Mitch Park Saturday.  That sounds like a lot of fun.  And thank you for the links, Harris2.  I will have my husband, who is a a lot more computer literate than me, give it a try tonight when we're done with all our yard work.

Oh, I forgot to give you the avatar directions. Click on *User Settings* on the upper left column on this page, under the heading of ObesityHelp Oklahoma Weight Loss Forum. That will take you to the page to upload your avatar picture. If you need to resize your picture for your avatar, go HERE and resize the picture to 100 pixels and save it to your desktop. Then just follow the instructions on the User Setting page to upload. If you have any questions, just ask any time. ; )
Blessings and Best Wishes! Shelly
