Lap bands unfortunately have many complications.  You didn't do anything wrong.  What surgery did you choose this time?
I have maintained for one year at this point.  I am steady at -120 pounds.  =)

I haven't had any surgery yet, but I was initially considering the lapband but changed to vsg due to reading soooo many complications from the band. Kudos to those that have got it and worked it, but I decided not to go there. OKAY, sorry, rambling. Go to the revision board and post this question. That's where I did a lot of research. Good luck to you on your quest for information!

That is the one of the reasons I chose RNY over the band to many complicatios with the band and I am not gonna wait 5 years to lose weight after trying for years to do it. In my support group we have several who have had revisions from lap band to RNY or the sleeve. They all say they wished they had never done the band. AND YOU ARE NOT A FAILURE! The band isnt what you needed, in the last year you have learned alot about yourself that you wouldnt otherwise have known. You have also learned a healthy way to eat and have changed your lifestyle so KUDOS TO YA!
being healthy has its rewards....take the challenge and just do it

This is the reason I was sleeved.  I didnt want to worry about the fills, and slippage, any of it.  I have such little time to do the things that I wanted to do if life, that I didnt want to mess with the possible complications of the band.  Good luck to you,  You are not a failure.  If it was only you, there would not be so many complications that you hear of concerning the band.

I really thought complication rates were low on the band. That is why I chose it. Of course with any surgery there are risks. The port flipped It wasn't your fault. Maybe the surgon should get the blame??? Good luck I hope it goes well from this point forward.
