I just wanted to encourage any of you that might be considering wls, I just would like to encourage you if you have comorbidities, I found out I had severe sleep apnea, liver disease and of course I knew I had high blood pressure. But 6.5 months later, I am feeling wonderful. The scale was stuck for about a month but I am on the losing side again. My hair is thinner, but so what, lol.
I can walk without breathing hard, my ankles and knees feel so much better. I am actually wanting to get out of the house, I used to be a home body, but now I want to do more and enjoy life, go figure.
I started a new life back in October, I quit my job, took 4 months off before finding a new job that was closer to home and I had the confidence with my weight loss that I could start a new career at age 44. Yeah me.
My primary care doctor, a wonderful Christian man, kept telling me for years, Brenda you just need a lifestyle change, he would give me the pyramid, blah blah blah, and told me to exercise. Well I didn't have the willpower, but once I started researching this process of gastric bypass, and found out I had other health issues, I decided to do this for me. I am so happy that I did, my family was and is so wonderful. And guess what I didn't have to tell anyone at my new job that I had surgery, but I have told most people and they can't believe it, they say they would have never known.
So if any of you are still on the fence, pray about it, talk to your loved ones, and most of all do your research, there is nothing easy about this. The vitamins I have to take gag me at times, I thought I would miss my diet dr. pepper, but I don't.
Anyway, if any one has any questions, feel free to ask me.
Brenda
