Does anyone have any problems with their eyes becoming bloodshot and runny?  Mine seem to be in a constant state of irritation.  Is this common or should I go see the doctor?

You might call your eye doc and see. Could it be allergies??

I've tried taking a antihistamine and allergy eye drops.  I'm going to get some claritin this weekend and see if that helps.  Otherwise I'll go to the doctor Monday.

Kim, Only if I drink too much. You might try toning that down a bit, especially since you can't have it post op. LOL  Seriously , it's probably allergies!

LOL. I don't know why I called you Kim either. Anyway, I hope they feel better soon. Try some of the OTC allergy eyedrops.

Just don't use Clear Eyes or Visine.  Those are bad for your eyes.  I used to work for an ophthalmologist as an assistant.  Stay away from those two. Does sound like allergies though.

I love Zyrtec but then I don't have any eye irritations.  Good luck!

I use allergy eye drops daily this time of year.  It's awful.  Mine get so bad that I sometimes have to go to the eye doctor and get steroid drops.  It is not something to mess around with.  If it doesn't improve with over the counter eye drops go to the doctor.  Once I let it go to the point I actually had bumps all over my eye balls and my vision was blurring!  I use Naphcon-A but sometimes change to the other one that was once prescription and is now OTC.  I can't think of the name right now.  After a while I have to rotate them as they quit working...just like any allergy med.  If they don't work, I go to the eye doc and get prescription drops.  Good luck!!

Naphcon-A is a good one that we recommended a lot when I worked for an ophthalmologist.  If you go to the doctor, ask for samples and rx of Pataday.  It is patanol but it is once a day instead of twice.
