Thurs May 15th is my day!

I had my IVC filter placed today and my lap band surgery is scheduled for Thursday.  I'm scared and nervous as I have never had any type of surgery before. Also,..........let's just say that it is possible that I wasn't perfect on the liquid diet. I've heard so many stories of surgeons just closing you up and not doing the surgery.  It seems like on so many threads it is post after post of,"Well, I NEVER cheated on the diet, I was only too happy to do it, blahblahblah". Good for them, really.

Congrats on your surgery.  I guess it would depend on how much you possibly cheated.  The reason you are placed on the liquid diet is o shrink your liver to make the surgery safer.  How long is the liquid diet for you?  The surgeon I'm using has a 4 day pre-op liquid diet.

One  day I had two boiled eggs, another day I had a small piece of grilled fish. They were all high protein, low fat selections, but, they were FOOD. It was a ten day all liquid diet I was supposed to be on. I have lost about 6 pounds.

To be on the safe side, and if it was me, I would call them and admit what I had eaten and tell them everything.  I don't know if it will make a difference or not but for my own peace of mind of would "fess up".  That's just my opinion!  I've been wrong many times before.  (don't tell my husband!) All ui can say is that i didnt cheat on the liquid diet because it was designed to shrink your liver as someone else has said , and Dr Gornichec is very strict and he means what he says and i have a healthy fear of him lol
