I'm Baaaaack!
Hi everyone! Just wanted to let you know I'm home and doing well. Everything went great yesterday. The staff at WW is absolutely amazing!!! Biggest "problem" was all the gas built up in my chest after surgery. I've never had a problem with anything like that so it was very uncomfortable. I moved around a lot and this morning it was 80% gone. Left the hospital around noon and after stopping for scrips, got home at 1. All in all, I feel great. Just sore, like I've done a million crunches (yeah right, like I'd know what that feels like....). My friends are so sweet. They brought tons of Itallian food to my family tonight. Smells great, but I'm really not hungry. I'm sipping, but it isn't going down too great. Going to switch to something warm to see if that helps. More tomorrow. Cindy
I just got home and was getting to send you a PM and, lo and behold, there you are! So glad to hear from you from the "other side"! I'm happy that you're doing well. Keep in touch so we know how you are! (inquiring minds want to know!)
You must tell me, are there lots of sparkly things on the loser's bench?
Congratulations Cindy!!
I'll be watching for you on the bench. (and in the chairs at the support group meetings -but not this week - we have Little League)
Be prepared - when they told you that tomorrow will be the worst day for pain - they were right... but then it gets better fast from there!

Hi Cindy - happy to know everything went well. The gas pain was the only pain I had from the surgery, and that went away after a couple of days.....so it wil get better and better (the more you move the faster they go away). I did better with warm liquids rather than cold for the first few days, so I hope that works for you as well. Congratulations !!!! - Anna
Hi Cindy
Glad to hear everything is going well. A few tips for ya, 1. Stay ahead of the pain. day 3 was the hardest day for me. I thought the docs were playing some mean trick on me when they told me that day 3 sucked. THEY WERE RIGHT. 2. SIP room temp liquids. Everytime I tried to drink cold liquids my tummy would cramp up and I thought something was wrong with me. 5 weeks out and they still get me sometimes. 3. REST. Don't start feeling pretty good, and then over do it. I did, when this happens, go back to tip 1 and start over.
Congrats that your surgery went well.

Thanks so much everyone! It hasn't been horrible so far. I used the Loratab last night and slept great. I'm sore, but feel better when I'm up walking around. Am going to use tylenol during the day to stay ahead of the soreness. I hesitate to call it pain, because it's just not that bad. Best thing I've sipped so far is warm tea. Had my family running back and forth to the microwave last night heating it up about every 30 min. I'm still slow getting it down. Feels like every drop down, pushes an air bubble around and it's uncomfortable. Am going to take it easy today. Just shower, read and sip. Expecting it to be the worst day....but always hoping for the best. Staying away from evil scale right now because I know I'm still full of gas. Or hot air as my family is telling me..... lol
