I did Care Credit to pay for part of my surgery. So far I am happy with them. The sleeve is $9995. I am not sure yet how much all the pre-op testing is going to cost since my insurance will pay for some of it.
I started this process in March. I could have probably gotten a surgery date earlier but needed to wait until school was out. One of the big factors in how fast you get scheduled is how much weight you ahve to lose before surgery. That # depends on how much you weigh when you see the doctor for your consultation appointment. And, the presurgical diet is kind of tough. You will get your details from the dietician. The diet makes Weigh****chers seems like a feast! You will be off all carbs except for veggies and fruit. I thought I was gonna die the first day! My body was in shock from lack of it's usual carbs. I felt so bad I call the nutritionist and whined. She assured me each day would get better and she was right! I had a high carb luch last week with my faculty and felt HORRIBLE until the next morning! What a wake-up call. My body really didn't need all those carbs I was feeding it. I do feel much better on the pre-op diet than before when I ate anything that didn't get me first.
Please join one of the support groups. I have never met a more warm and gracious groupr of people (yes, you too Miss Ruth!) What procedure are you going to have? The sleeve and gastric bypass group meets this Thursday night at 6. We would love to see you there.

I still think it is a great place to have surgery. Great surgeons, great staff! They try to clump your appointments together in one visit so you don't have to drive so much. Where are you driving from? I really think the support groups are a huge part of success. If you do one a month and check in with us on the boards you should be OK.
How did you get a surgery date without all the preliminaries? Are you switching doctors?
