OT: Why I haven't been around lately

Sorry I haven't been around lately.  I do come in and read a few posts here and there, but I have my own issues that I'm dealing with right now and I'm just not spending much time on the computer at all. Last week my husband said he wanted a divorce.  I started trying to get things in line for me to be on my own...  He started working on the house to get it ready for sale...  The 14 year old freaked out because she wants to finish school here and is afraid that we'll have to move out of this town if we get a divorce...  The little one (9 years) well, we were trying to protect her for the moment and didn't tell her much.  She did ask Josh if we were going to get a divorce, so I know she knew something major was going on...  But, he didn't answer the question directly.  He just said "Don't worry about it.  Mommy and Daddy both love you." and she was OK with that response. Yesterday, we went to see a marriage counselor.  My agenda for going was to try to put our marriage back together.  His agenda was to find out how to make the divorce as seamless as possible for the kids. Luckily, after talking to the therapist for almost 2 hours, he realized that it is a two way street and there are things HE can do to improve our relationship and he said he is willing to work on it.  So far, so good, but it has only been just over 24 hours. We have two assignments to do this week and we go back to the therapist on Wednesday next week. Say your prayers for me :o) Thanks for everything! Dot

Been there, Dot. I walked out on my husband for about 2 months back in 2001. He dragged me to marriage counseling kicking and screaming. He wanted what you wanted, I wanted validation for leaving.  We went to a Christian marriage counselor, and he's top notch. Anyway, without going into all the messy details, I'll tell you that it worked. Something just clicked inside me one night.  We're together still today and going stronger than before. June 1 makes 23 years for us. You can do it, and I"ll pray for you. ((Hugs))

Dot its good to hear from you, was wondering about ya.  May God be with you and your husband during this time, and may He help you find the best option.  Bask in His strength and knowledge and accept His future for you both.  I hope it works out for the best for you.  If you need to talk to anyone message me on here or Myspace.

So sorry to hear you're having problems and I'm hoping things work out for you.  We came pretty close to splitting up about ten years ago.  We'll be celebrating our 20th anniversary in August.

Pam
