I have finally come to realize that this surgery is not in my near future if ever. I have exhausted my list of possible co-signers. Tomorrow I am going to cancel the appt with the dietician and surgeon. NO sense waisting their time and my  money. Its been a long sad day for me today but I had to face it and realize its just not happening. There will always be that hope deep inside of me that I will someday be able to do it. But for now its just not fisable. In the mean time I am going to work on improving my credit and getting healthier. I may never be skinny but I can be healthier.

(((((HUGS)))))  You have given it a good fight, and have a great attitude. It will all work out. You probably just need a break from the stress of it, and it will fall into place. Never totally give up on your dream though. You are right, there are alot of things you can do to get healthy. Best of luck to you and if you need anything give me a shout. Oh, and stay on the boards, okay? Rita

Awww hun. Doggone it. It's probably a good idea to cancel the appt. but you can still keep looking. You checked into all of the places on here about getting a loan yourself even with the yuck credit? Capital one, some medical lending place, etc. If it's not now, then that doesn't mean not ever. Keep your chin up and maybe something will come about later. In the mean time, call me if you need anything or want to get together.

Sherrie I am so sorry.  When I was told that I couldn't have children I was so upset.  After about 4 months I got 2 kittens and accepted that they would be my babies.  2 months after that I found out I was pregnent, and you saw Brooklyn at The Olive Garden.  Maybe you just need a break and then everything will fall into place. If you need anything just let me know. Karen

Sherrie,  I am so sorry that the finances didn't work out for you.  Hang in there and keep your chin up.  I am sure that something will work out in the future.  HUGS, Dionne

I have seen people improve their credit dramatically within a year.  It really can be done.  The first step is to get current with everyone.  Then just make every payment on time for the next 6 months.  Check your FICO score after that 6 months to see if it is high enough.  Also during this time frame do not apply for any new loans at all.  Once you hit a year your score should have improved by at least 100 points.  During this same time period try to keep the same job to show stability.  After a year you will look like a much better risk to a creditor.  I've been in lending for 20 year so trust me when I say it can be done.  Hang in there.  Work on getting healthy both physically and financially.

Sherri Please Please Please dont give up, you are a fighter I know you have it in you!  I want you to start looking for jobs at places that the insurance covers the surgery.  Do anything you can to get a job at this place and use it to get your surgery.  I know I had to wait to 2 years at my current employer for the surgery to be covered, one of the restrictions but I know you can do it, I know you can! Thinking of you! AmyBeth

Sherry, I am so sorry that it didn't work out for you. If I could help in any way possible, I certainly would. Have you given up on Medicaid/Medicare?  Surely, somewhere, some how, some way there can be a miracle for you.  I have been sending up lots of prayers this week. I've been going through some stuff too. ((HUGS))

  • Pease check out Dr. Connie Stapleton's Website. A lot of good information on there for all WLS patients regardless of the surgery you chose.  Good luck to all and I'm here for you if you want to send me an email.  I'll answer it as soon as possible.
