UPDATE ON KAREN AND STEVE
Hello Dear Okie Friends,
I just wanted to you all know how things are going for my friend Karen and also on my DH Steve.
Karen began radiation and chemo last week and is doing about how you could expect. She does get nauseaus a lot and is tired but remains strong in her Faith. We are getting together Saturday to clean up her garden. Karen loves gardening! She can "supervise us" all from her lawn chair!
Steve has been extremely tired lately. Lots more than even a couple of weeks ago and I am quite worried. He keeps telling me everything will be OK but I can see some big changes in him. He has lost a lot of weight as well in the last little while. He is a big guy, 6'2" and usually about 230 lbs. Now his weight is down to about 175lbs. Really is getting almost to be skin and bones. It breaks my heart to see him like this. He continues to try to eat but his appetite isn't the best, but he does what he can.
I am going to school this summer but am wondering if I should stay at home with him. I worry that our time together may be getting short and want to spend each day together. Steve, says that going to school is good for me because it gives me a little break from the stresses at home. My dr. feels as he does - that I should continue at least thru the summer sessions. I just don't know. I am very torn about this and don't want to have any regrets.
Any input or thoughts from you would be appreciated. And please continue to hold Karen, Steve and our family in prayer.
Thank you all so very much for your support.
Huggs,
Pam
Pammie prayers are being said for you and yours!
As for you going or staying home, I would do this go to school part time. That way you are giving yourself a break and Steve wont feel like he is holding you back. Think of this if you dont go will you go after something happens to him? I seriously doubt it. So attend school let Steve see you being happy and do not forget that the docs can say he has a time limit but GOD SAYS he aint going anywhere till I say he can. The power of prayer is stronger than any meds a doc can give. As stated in the Bible where 2 or more agree through prayer ALL THINGS are possible! I have seen folks who were at deaths door come back and live for years just believe that Jesus can heal if only you believe.
being healthy has its rewards....take the challenge and just do it
