You know when you are going through your journey you are focused on you and just trying to follow the rules and keep up with everything going on with your progress/success.  But now that I am further out and feeling in control and not so overwhelmed which is very normal in the beginning of this process I am having such a ball watching all the newbies and pre ops.  I want you all to know what an inspiration you are to me.  I am so impressed by all the young people who are taking control when I did not.  I am so impressed they are not going to lose 10 years of their lives like I did to Morbid Obesity.  I want you to know that it keeps me on track and in reality watching you daily and seeing your changes.  You all have so much strength and wisdom at such young ages that I am so truly impressed with all of you.  Keep up with your blogs and new pics and avies, I am enjoying watching your journey.  Congratulations to all of you young and wise newbies and pre ops!  Thanks for the inspiration. (thanks for helping this older woman remember to not ever go back)

I know. I waited until I was 44 to do something about it. The upside? When I turned 45 I was down about 80 some pounds.  Last year, I vowed that I had spent my last "fat" anniversary. I'm gonna blow him away on June 1. Yeah, I'm going back to Fredrick's.

Congrats, I am so happy for  you, but you know what I mean and that is what I am talking about.  I don't want these young people to endure the misery I lived and so glad to see them not wasting time. AB

As a semi-young (26) person on the board, I want to say thanks!  I don't know what I would have done had I not taken control.  It is the best thing that has happenend to me.  I would like to also extend my own thank you's to those of you "veterans" to the surgery.  You guys are what gave me my inspiration.  You have helped me every step of the way.  It is nice to have a second family!  I dont write much here, I pretty much live in the WLS in your 20's board, but I do read a lot.  So thanks!

Great point! I waited way too long to do this.  My WLS is my 50th birthday gift to myself!
I have maintained for one year at this point.  I am steady at -120 pounds.  =)

I know what you mean.  I wish I would have been smart enough to deal with this at a younger age. It seems when you ask most people if they regret anything about their WLS they say their only regret is that they didn't do it sooner.  Oklahoma has some smart young people!

I don't know about being the young on here(30) I feel better today than I did a year ago, and I know that is all because of the surgery.  As for waiting so long.  I have done everything in my power to have this surgery for the past 7 years.  Started with research, talking to my family about it, and then looking for the $$$ to do it.  When I thought I was going to be able to do it, I ended up pregnant with my beautiful daughter.  Then back to the money part of.  All I can say, its been a long process I wish I could have had the surgery done (boomer) sooner, but I would not trade anything for what I have now. I would also like to say "Thanks" to everyone on here, you don't know how much reading everyones posts, and questions help. Karen
