Yes, this is a sick thought.  I just realized that I will get to eat crackers after my knee surgery when I am in recovery today!  I've been on the yummy shake pre-op diet so the thought of crackers has my mouth watering!  Seriously though, if you have a sec please pray that my surgery will go well and I will have a speedy recovery so that I can get on to my next surgery...the sleeve!!

I've already said a prayer for you and will keep you in my thoughts today. Please let us know how you are when you can. Is this outpatient? Cindy

Yes, I am outpatient at Mercy.  My surgery is ata 1:30 so I hope to be home a few hours later.  They are doing a scope to remove part of a torn meniscus (sp?).  I'll let you guys know how it went when I get home.

Amy, I'll be thinking of you as you go for surgery this afternoon... and envying you your crackers.  I've had arthroscopy on my left knee twice - once for a torn meniscus, and once for a broken patella (knee cap).  You can do this... just like the other surgeries, follow all the doctors instructions and work at it as well as you can. We're making space for you on the loser's bench... can't wait to see you here. John

I'm home!!!!!!!!  OH MY GOSH....we drove into a tornado forming on the way home!!!  We had to pull under the overpass on the Kilpatrick near 39th and wait for it to pass.  It was scary.  I was trying to figure out how to get in the ditch with my knee.  Hubby said I sounded like a choo choo train because I was praying "Jesus" over and over really fast.  The surgery went fine, he removed the torn meniscus, smoothed out some arthritus, and did something called a soft tissue release.  I am sitting in the recliner with my hubby waiting on my hand and foot!  I might have to milk this.  Oh and I ate 6 saltine crackers!!  It was a feast!!  Sorry John, Shelly, and all of you still on liquids. :)  I will be back to my yummy shakes tomorrow.  Thanks for all the warm wishes.  I am really starting to like you guys! :) ;)
