TV Commercials ... ARGH!

I'm just venting my disgust at all the thousands of TV commercials that focus on FOOD! I'm sure all of the others that are on liquids and/or trying to eat healthy can understand. It's especially bad in the evenings. Oh well, just needed to vent a bit. ; ) I'm so looking forward to being OK'd to go back to bike riding. Today I'm going to just get out of the house and stay busy ... and go rent some DVD's that are food commercial free!!! : )

Shelly - I had that problem when I was on liquids, I couldn't handle watching food ads or the Food Channel; however, I got over it. Now I can watch whatever food comes up on TV and I don't care! A lot of it doesn't even look good to me.

I think it should be no surprise that we have become an overweight nation with the rates climbing. Just think what would happen if they used all the restaurant advertising budgets for ending world hunger .... we would all gain (and not in weight)! 

During my 14 days of liquid hell, the $5 Footlong Subway commercials were driving me bananas.  It gets better trust me.  Hang in there

Thanks so much, Dan! I am so looking forward to pureed food ... just something besides liquids. ; ) The Pizza Hut pasta and Outback Steakhouse commercials are cruel. I'm not craving the food...just tired of constantly hearing reminders of food that isn't liquid!

oh I know!!!!!!!! The subway footlong commercials!!!!!!!!!! Terrible........ I had an awful time with it. All those commercials just ate me up ( ate me up... LOL  ) but I was so depressed I would cry. I was thinking what did I do to myself? It does get better when you move to mushies and food. I love me some eggs and cheese!!!!!!!!!! Yummo! And just think, your almost there Shelly!!!!!!! Yeah!!!!!!!

This is teacher appreciation week. Yesterday, the moms brought home baked sugar laden treats galore. Today, they brought sugar laden fancy coffees and doughnuts. Who knows what tomorrow will bring?? At least, I wasn't tempted..Well..I WAS tempted to pick up a lemon square, but I started drinking Crystal Light Peach Tea (Good Value brand) and that got me through. Hang in there, it does get easier!

Shelly, I was on the full liquid stage Dec 12-25th. You can imagine what the commercials were like at that time. Like everyone says, it gets better. There's no where to go but up at this stage, huh?

I got really tickled at the food commercials followed by the diet pill of the moment commercials.  I went back to my usual cancel cable in the spring routine-I'll turn it back on when the weather cools off again, but for now, I need to be out and moving.  I didn't last year because I had surgery on my foot and then got banded, and it was a long, hard winter because I was already tired of TV by October....
