My new favorite Protein Meal Replacement!

OK, I'm surprised I'm writing this, but this protein meal replacement is actually GOOD! It's Chike in the Orange Cream flavor. I use skim milk to mix it, then add crushed ice. It tastes a lot like a Dreamsicle. I've had it for breakfast the last 2 days! : ) I've tried the Banana, too. I'm going to try it again mixed with skim milk and ice added. I think I'll like it that way! : )

Amy, I get mine from Dr. Nelson's office. They carry all the flavors. I can get some for you to try if you like. I've not seen it in a store, but that doesn't mean it isn't there. I know you can order it online, too.

You know, I just remembered. You can phone in an order to OWLO and they'll ship it to you. I don't think you need to be a patient to do this. You can give them a call and find out.  They ship same day! The Chike bottles are $3 each. They keep all flavors in stock. Their phone number is 360-7100. : )

Amy www.chikenutrition.com I have tried this before and it is good. You can also order samples. Remember to keep in mind that you can't have it post surgery until after your two weeks full liquid is over. I don't know if you have been to a pre-op diet class yet, but you are only allowed  certain approved protein drinks on the 2 weeks full liquid diet post op.

PS. I just checked and I didn't see the samples. Their product is good but if you notice on their website they are a bit pricey.

Yeah, know about the post op diet.  I was thinking they would work for my pre-op diet.  Jessica said I could try different drinks within the right calorie range.

It always amazes me how different the routines are for the different programs. I was on clear liquids post op in the hospital (and of course, Chike wasn't allowed as a clear liquid), but then started full liquids when I came home. I think it's because they do all the post op leak testing that they allow full liquids once I left the hospital. I'd passed 3 leak tests by then (2 of those post op). I stay on full liquids for 2 weeks, then go to pureed. Chike is allowed as protein meal replacement in my full liquid post op stage. They're especially good because they contain so much nutritional benefit other than just protein. They contain also about 1/3 of all the daily vitamins and minerals needed. It is cheaper if you buy the large containers, but I didn't want to buy that much of just one flavor.

I'm happily blending away with my vanilla and chocolate Unjury every day. My fave so far: Milk, strawberries, bananas, vanilla powder, powdered Upcal D calcium powder, skosh of Splenda and 1 tbsp of ground flax seed. Sometimes I blend it thick, and sometimes I blend it runnier. That poor Magic Bullet's gonna wear out fast at this rate!
