Someone come hide my scales!
Alright girl. Let's get tough now!! Yes, this is going to be a MIND game until the last moment. So - put the scales away. Take them out of the house if you need to. Drink Drink DRINK your water. Follow the aggressive program that the dietitian has laid out for you. Stay AWAY from everything else. Make sure you are doing exactly what the program says!
Journal everything you are putting in your mouth if you have to in order to be true to the program. At the least, it will get you familiar with journalling because they want us to after surgery. At the most, you will be able to ensure that you have followed the aggressiveness of the program.
Now, get your mind off going to those wonderful places that have DONE YOU IN over the past!! We DID tell you this was not going to be easy. This is one of the hardest things to do!!
And when you feel that this is not worth it, find something in your head that reminds you WHY you are attempting it. If that means you make yourself a LIST so that you can review as needed, DO IT! And post it in many places so you can see it wherever you might have a problem.
YOU CAN DO THIS! Trust me, if I can do it, YOU CAN!! Remember, I have lost 175 lbs over the past 21 months - that is 1/2 of myself!!! You can do it!!!
Now...for the SLAP you requested......hmmmmmm.... DAN YOU THERE????? We need someone slapped!!! I know you enjoy this kind of thing...so....

Ruth, I took your advice and made a list. I even posted it. I can do this. And if for some reason my body doesn't cooperate and lose it by the 21st then it just wasn't meant to be for that day and there will be another time that will work.

Amy, BACK-AWAY-FROM-THE-SCALES- I'm thinking that your protein shakes don't have too much sodium in them or the nut wouldn't have asked you to drink them. Right now just focus on the plan and let's get you through your knee surgery then we'll go from there. As you stated in a earlier post "pull up your big girl panties" and let's do this. Gosh, I'm hoping that was you that said that. LOL. You can do this, Rita
Amy, I SWEAR my body acts exactly the same way. Could be that yours is in "starvation" mode and trying to decide if you're going to keep feeding it those yummy shakes or not. Don't give up. Remember that if it's worth having, it's worth the work. I've been in your shoes and felt the same thing. I did it and I know you can too. Quit focusing on the scale so much. Drink, drink and drink some more. And when you feel like you're gonna 'splode, have another glass of water. *grabbing my pompom's* YOU CAN DO IT!!

You can do it! I know you can. Also, I agree - get those scales out of there! I am DYING to weigh to see if I have lost any weight since surgery - I actually made my hubby come with me when I got on the scales so he could cover my eyes and tell me yes, you've lost or no, you haven't. See, the scales mess with your head! Just keep doing what you're supposed to be doing diet wise and the scales will move.
Keep doing it! You're strong!

Amy, hang in there. I've been in your shoes. You know you have done everything possible to lose weight. Eventually your body has to give in and give up the pounds! I am thinking of you and sending you good vibes! Give yourself a big old hug!
Please post about your knee surgery so we know you are home and doing well.
