prayers needed
Hi everyone ,,,, I have a very close "friend" who has a brother weighing 430 lbs , with high blood pressure , diabetes etc.... he is only 45 yrs old and has a wife and three children , his doctor has advised him to have the RNY procedure and his family has tried to persuade him to have the surgery but he refuses , although they all know this has to be his decision , they are well aware that this is life and death for him ......please remember "Gib" in your prayers .
Thank you ,
Luanne

Luanne, I will add him to my prayer list and say a prayer for him right now to be enlightened to the fact that he may not be alive to see his children grown, married, and with families of their own. They truly need their dad. Thanks for letting us know of this.
Hope everything is going well with you.

I am doing very well , I missed having our support group this morning though !!!! Thank you for putting him in your thoughts , when i hear these situations it just breaks my heart but it also makes me thankful for my decision and the wonderful support i have received here and in my everyday life . He could have that too if he will only make the decision , hopefully he will before its too late . Thank you again.

Luanne, I will keep Gib in myprayers, too. Does he just refuse a specific type of surgery? Maybe a different surgery type to consider might help? Maybe a VSG wouldn't be so objectional to him? It is very effective in resolving diabetes, too, as well as high blood pressure. I will definitely keep him in my prayers.
Luanne, prayers are bing said for him.
Since I am the brassy one of the bunch on here and I usually say what I think just say this to him...we your friends and family have decided since you do not want to save your life we are currently seeking pall bearers that will beable to lift you and your casket while you are being taken from the church to the hearse and to your grave site plus because of your bulk we also are now taking donations to beable to buy a specially made casket and suit for you since they dont make them normally for people of your girth.
ANd because you dont seem to care about seeing your children grow up, AND being there on the big important days of their lives we have decided to find a dad replacement so they wont have to know what it is like not to have a DAD there.
This is what I told a man who weighed over 500 pounds. A month later he was scheduled for surgery and has lost over a 100 pounds. Men seem to think they cand do it alone. Unlike women who know there short comings... Good luck
being healthy has its rewards....take the challenge and just do it
I cant do it alone, I need ALL my girls on here. Love ya all
Lu, I hope you friend sees the light before he truly SEE'S THE LIGHT. I was just like him, 420 and on the road to an early grave. Now granted I dont have kids or am I married yet but I asked myself "hey big guy do you want to be able to have that or not?" It was a no brainer question to answer HELL YES. Hopefully someone will talk some sense into him. Until then i will keep him in my thoughts for an "Intervention"
