Mood swings after VSG?

I hear that I might be a bit cranky or moody or emotional after VSG.  Did that happen to you?  If so, how long?  I guess there are some hormonal changes?  (just what I need!)

I'm just sad because I can't eat, hopefully that will go away next Monday, when I can finally eat something.  The weight loss counteracts some of that bad feeling though.

Yeah.....the mood thing...I have had issues with that. It's getting better, but I still find myself getting moody here and there. I get easly annoyed, and I find that I am more critical of what my family eats and how much they eat. I think it takes a while to come to terms with the fact that food cannot be used as a pacifier anymore, and some are left with not knowing what to do with the emotions that used to be "taken care of" with food. I am still a work in progress when it comes to that. But it does get better  - Anna

Kim, I'm with the other girls. I'm not quite so sure it's because of hormonal changes but the fact we miss what we thought was out best friend. Sometimes I will go to the grocery store and walk down every aisle and see much of nothing that i can have. It can make you very moody and irritable. However, losing the weight makes up for it.

I am still having the mood swings.  I don't know how much longer to expect them, I am sure Charles would like to know though LOL

I'm just two days out, so no mood swings yet. My biggest issue has been feeling cold and can't seem to get warm enough. Usually hubby was always cold and I was burning up. But now, it's just the opposite. He's in shorts and wanting to make the AC colder and I'm about to start shivering!
Blessings and Best Wishes! Shelly
