Ruth, I'm so happy to get a date.  It makes it all real and I'm very calm about the whole decision!  And now I will be expecting you to wheel me wo surgery!  (notice I said wheel and not shove???) Yes, we are walking on Saturday morning at 8:30!  I'm so impressed that you're going to drive up and walk with us.  Makes me happy! Do you know what the topic is tomorrow night for the support group?  Or who will be speaking?  My sister and I are bringing our mom.  I think she'll feel better after hearing people speak who have had the surgery. See you tomorrow! Kim

Amybeth: Just in case you are not aware, WeightWise WILL cancel a surgery in a heart beat if you do not make your weight.  They are VERY serious about it and have already cancelled 2 surgeries this last month due to weight not being met. Please know that all surgical practices handle things differently and this is one thing that WeighWise is very serious about.   I just want to caution you on making a blanket statement about what a surgeon will and will not do in regards to each invidividual patient.  It is very easy to get information miscommunicated here and I would not want to give someone false hope that it is just a "scare" tactic.  Drs. Broussard and Walton set their expectations very high and very clear and expect their patients to meet them or wait until they do in order to assist them in their successful weight loss.   Just thought you may want to know that this particular practice is clear about expectations but that not all are.   Thanks.  R

Ditto, what Ruth, said I had 2 more lbs to lose and they weighed me the morning of my surgery.  Julie, the pre-op nurse told me they had cancelled two surgeries in the past several weeks because of weight not being met.  She also told me that they had one patient who said they had not eaten the day before and when they got into surgery found food in their stomach and stopped the surgery!  So, please follow their instructions to the letter!  CONGRATS on getting your surgery date, I'm so excited for you!!!  See all of you tomorrow night!

Congrats Kim on your surgery date.  My Doc told me to lose 15-20 pounds before surgery.  I lost 16 and got to continue with surgery.  You can do it.  Its 4 more pounds til the new you.   Congrats again

Kim, Congratulations!  It's so exciting to actually have a date to work toward.  I know you won't have any problem getting four pounds off in four weeks - you'll probably end up well under your goal. Keep the faith - it's only a short while now before you'll be moving on to the other side. John
