I tried to do an all liquid diet today
hang in there ladies!! i know it is difficult, and I couldn't stomach the stupid protein drinks either before or after surgery. i hear trying to drink them from an enclosed bottle does help because you can't smell the product as much. and drinking them ice cold too.
keep up the good work and you'll get where you need to go!!!

Oh, I can't believe I forgot this! You can add Beneprotein (flavorless and odorless) protein powder to your regular liquids ... like healthy tomato soup, skim milk, chicken broth, etc. Another alternative to getting in your protein with regular soups that you like (although best to choose low fat, low sodium soups). Just don't mix it when it's boiling....protein will clump. But, if you add it when it's just steaming, you will be fine and clump free.
Oh, you mean the very skinny guy in the shop with 4% body fat? Yea, I know who you mean. Why couldn't you have one of those each time for a supplement? I don't know what's so hot about liquid stuff anyway. But those wafers do have 200 calories in them. That's kinda pricey! Be gone next 10 pounds! Maybe I should just cut off an arm and be done!
I was told post-op (by Jessica) that I did not need to drink protein drinks, shakes, ect....so, those of you girls going with the Weightwise program, it should be the same deal. They emphasize that your protein should come first and foremost from whole foods. I cannot stand any protein drinks, so, understandably, it was the first thing I asked! On your two weeks liquid diet you can have some protein drinks - if needed - and those can be the Atkins Advantage (not that bad actually), and Slim Fast Low Carb and some others that you will have on your stage one instructions. So, for the purpose of losing your pre-op weight, since it's hard enough as it is, I suggest you stick with things you at least half-way enjoy. Amy, the puddings are a big difference from the shakes, so I would definitely ask. They have a variety of protein bars at the WW marketplace, one of my favorite was the Chocolate Mint, they also have some called Crispy 15, they come in different flavors, those don't even taste like protein bars, then the Wafers, those come in chocolate, mocha and strawberry (those are higher in calories so they don't recommend you eat them everyday). Amy, good job on your weight loss, and at least you made to lunch on liquids!!!
