Biking in the Wind!
Well, I got a really good ride in today with our daughter. I was riding HooDooWoman's (Deb's) bike that she loaned me, and our daughter (in her 20's) was riding her bike. We rode through their neighborhood. I haven't ridden really since I was a kid, until just lately. We laughed and giggled, watched birds, coasted downhill, and I nearly needed someone to PUSH from behind to make it back up the long, gentle slope against the wind. We rode about 1.5 miles. I know it's not that much, but boy, it was work for me! I thought their neighborhood was level until today. Hah! When I dismounted, my legs were doing the Jitterbug without me! They were quivering like I was experiencing my own personal earthquake. I had to sit down, or fall over .... either from being tired with legs that wanted to shimmy, or laughing. I strongly recommend cycling to anyone considering this type of exercise. We had great fun and I'm now a convert for sure! : ) We've got another ride scheduled for tomorrow. Oh, and again, THANK YOU so much Deb! Your bike is wonderful and you are the greatest!!! I think biking will be my activity of choice post-op. : )
Sounds like a lot of fun! And what a great memory for you and your daughter! I wish you all the best for your surgery on Tuesday. Please make sure someone posts an update for us as we'll be watching. I'll be very interested in your progress since I hope to be about a month behind you.
I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers!
