For those newly post-op people I'm sorry, but I am a little over two weeks out, and in order to get all the protein in that I need, I feel like I'm eating all the time.   Anyone else go through this.

Hi - has your nutritionist given you certain guidelines to follow and food/drink options? The plan that I follow through Weightwise, does not require that I eat a certain amount of protein, they only require that my meals are made up first and foremost of protein, I eat some vegetables if I have room for that and I eat things like beans for fiber intake (those also have a lot of protein). I eat three meals per day and that's it, and do not count calories/protein grams, etc.... I know a lot of doctors and nutritionists require a set amount of protein per day, and given the size of our stomachs I see why you would need to eat all the time in order to get the required amount in. I don't know if you have ever checked out the VSG board, but it seems that a lot of people are required to consume a certain amount of protein and in order to get that much in, they rely a lot on protein shakes and supplements like that. You may want to post a question on that board and maybe someone can give you suggestions on what is good to drink, ect... I many cases, it's just a matter of finding out what you like. Unfortunately I don't like any of those and since I don't have to supplement with them, I am not familiar with many of those products...Good luck!! - Anna
