Support group

Does anyone on this form attend the Oklahoma Weight Loss Options support group?  I am waiting on insurance approval and wanted to go ahead and get some support group meetings in.  Since I live in El Reno I will go to some in Norman then try to find one closer.  Just wondering if anyone on the form attend. 

Heather, I'd be happy to meet you at one of the support groups! I get my VSG next Tuesday, so any time after that by a week or so should be good. Dr. Nelson will require at least one support group attendence before surgery, so it will be great if you have a head start. Even though I'm not going to be a band, I'd still be happy to attend. I have a schedule of the meetings for the year if that will help you.

heather, i am the official greeter for the owlo support group meetings. the closet one is at norman for el reno...there is one one thursday a month in bethany...go to owlo and check the schedule its usually the third thursday of the month..carol clugston is the moderator. you can go to www. living our dreams.com.The online support group for OWLO

Doesn't Dr. Nelson require you to come to at least one support group meeting in Norman?  Then I was a little confused n the bethany schedule.  Also when I went to the web site www. living our dreams.com all i could find was someone selling something so did I do something wrong?  Thank you for your time. Dr. Nelson does require one support group meeting before you have surgery. I don't think it's limited to an OWLO group in Norman, the NW OKC would probably be OK. But, best to call the office to be sure. The Living Your Dream group is a Yahoo group HERE.  There's also Oklahoma Bandsters HERE.

Thank you for your help.  Good luck on your surgery.  Keep us posted.  I might take you up on the offer to meet at a meeting.  I am going to be having the RNY so I think if I am right the meetings are on Tuesday.  Cory is submitting my insurance again but I talked to a RN through my insurance yesterday and it looks like it will be Sept before I can submit again.  But it is all in Gods hands.  Again good luck and I will be praying for you.

Thank you for the prayers, Heather! I'll keep updating to let everyone know how it goes. ; ) The OWLO support groups in Norman are on Tuesday evenings....it alternates on week lap-band, next week RNY. The May RNY support group dates are May 13th and May 27th. Then June 10th and June 24th. I'd be happy to meet you at any of them! I've been thinking about attending the RNY groups anyway since there are no fellow VSGers yet. It would be great to be able to meet you at a meeting! I hope you're also having a wonderful weekend!

You are required to attend one  meeting at OWLO. then you ca attend any meeting where ever it is. As for the vsg I think that maybe you need to bring that up and let the docs know you need a group of your own. You can attend the face to face meetings at the hospital and get credit for attending it. the next one is in may and it is the clothing exchange.
