will knee surgery on May 7th keep me from getting sleeved?

I'm so upset.  I found out I have a torn minescus (have no idea how to spell) and they want to do a scope procedure outpatient on May 7th.  I was planning on having my sleeve done on May 21st (2 weeks later) providing I lose the required weight by then.  My orthopedic guy knows about my WLS and is very supportive.  He said in 2 weeks I would be walking around normal but he didn't want me to exercise until 4 weeks out.  Will Dr. B. be okay with me waiting until 2 weeks after getting sleeved to start a serious exercise routine?  Will he be okay with me have the surgeries so close together?  What do y'all think? As long as I am walking around normal do you think he will do it?  I'm really upset and I want to eat something.  I found out my patient advocate "no longer works here" so I left a voice mail with someone named Julie.  She didn't call me back today but maybe she will tomorrow.  -Amy (PS.  I survived speaking at the Edmond Chamber Women's Network Breakfast this morning! Then went to the Dr. and it all fell apart from there)

Amy:  hang in there girl!!  Julie is great and she will get back to you soon!  I am not sure about the surgeries so close together.  But if Dr. B. can make it happen and still keep you safe, it will happen.  Just remember to hang in there and trust that things will work out.  A scope procedure is normally a fairly simple  deal.  In and out fairly quickly, so that will probably have a lot to do with the decision.   Don't stress out and eat though!  Drink your water, read, pray and everything will be taken care of!  I am glad you did well speaking at the Chamber.  I know you were very nervous about it.  Think how strong you were to get in front of those people and talk!!  Harness all that strength and put it to good use!! Hang in there and let us know how things go.  If you need us, just ask!!

Amy, I will definitely be praying for you. I'm so sorry your knee is an issue now, too....especially near the time of your VSG surgery. I think the biggest issue will be if your surgeon feels that possible blood clots may be an issue. Hopefully, it won't. Please try not to go for food now to ease the stress.... try something else. Take a long bath, read a great book, watch a good movie on dvd, call a friend or family member that you haven't talked with in a while ... or give yourself a facial. I'm fighting not eating tonight too....let's help keep each other strong!
Blessings and Best Wishes! Shelly

Also, maybe you can call and talk with Dr. Broussard's nurse instead of an advocate? His nurse would understand (or possibly if he has a PA, too) and could probably either answer you, or get your doctor's answer for you right away.
Blessings and Best Wishes! Shelly
