What a great support group meeting tonight!  I really enjoyed it. It is such a supportive and honest environment.  Ruth - you are a fabulous lady and I am appreciate that you give so much of yourself to help make us all successful on this journey we're on!  If you have not attended one of these support group meetings yet then do yourself a favor and get there soon!  I love to hear everyone's story and find it all so inspiring. PS Dr. B is adorable!  What a personality!

Glitter Text Generator You are tooooooo sweet!  I wish I could say why I feel so strongly about attending support groups, but it is such a calling to support you all going through your journey!  I just love sharing and helping you!  Yes, Dr B is adorable!  Both Dr B and Dr W are truly angels and I would not be where I am today without them!  I think we have the BEST team of surgeons hands down! Keep your chin up and keep working on your pre-op diet and instructions.  I know you will have your surgery day before you know it!  And then I get to come see you in the hospital!!!

Kim, It really is a great place isn't it?  I was hoping to make it tonight, but then the storms veered to the east and I went to Little League with my 10 year old instead. Was the room full again tonight?  Everytime I've been, there have been more people than the previous time.  The support from all those people is really helpful. Ruth - how was the graduate group yesterday?  I hadn't seen or heard anything about it today... Here's hoping that it was a great success! John

There were quite a few people there last night but there were actually a couple of empty chairs.  I get off work at 5:00 and went straight there so I could sit towards the front but I wouldn't have had to do that.  But we had a great mix of pre-op, post-op, and trying to decide if they want surgery people.  It is VERY helpful to have post-op people there so we can quiz them.  I'm sorry you missed the meeting but maybe next time. Ruth - you sparkled me up!  I love it!  I gotta get me one of those!  I'm glad you hear the calling - keep hearing it!

Oh and I forgot to mention that I changed my avatar picture again.  I promise that this is the final picture.  The other picture was making people think I was a pilot of some kind!  I don't want to be a fraud so I changed it! Happy  Friday to everyone!

Rita - do you ever just look at your ticker and think, "Holy Smoke!  I've lost 91 pounds!"  That is such in incredible amount of weight and in such a short time.  You should be so, so proud of your accomplishment!  I hope to see you at the next meeting.  I can understand the desire to want to go home!  But I hope you're working when I have surgery.  I know that's selfish but it would be like having a friend at the factory!  Ha!  Have a wonderful weekend!

I had every intention of going, but with the stormy looking clouds I didn't want to leave my 16 year old at home alone just in case it stormed. My husband didn't get home until after the meeting started, so I just vegged out in the 1 pair of yoga pants I have left. Well, I did laundry and ran the diswasher in preparation for going home (Enid) this weekend and drank, drank, drank tha****er so they could find a vein for my 6 month post-op bloodwork. Yikes.

It was my first support group meeting and I loved it.  I didn't expect to be motivated quite the way I was.  It was amazing hearing everyones loss.  I am hoping and praying that I get all of the weight off in time for surgery on May 21st.  This week has been hard with it being the 19th (I'm a bombing survivor) and all but I have not veered off the diet not even once. I just wish Dr. B could count the 10 lbs I lost before I had my appt.  If he did, then I would be just about there.
