B 12...normal?

OK, I just started taking b12 a couple of days ago, the same day that I started my complete fast diet, which is basically a liquid diet with a protein bar thrown in. And I was wondering, is it normal that I have had an extraordinary headache since I started this new diet? I normally never get headaches, so I was just curious. Who knows, it may have something to do with this weather, but I don't like it.

It could be the diet.  If your body is used to alot of caffine, and then you stop, you will get headaches.  And they suck, I can simpathize with you on that.  Then again it could be the weather too. Good Luck

It very well could be your diet, your body isnt used to the healthy ways or the new ways you are treating it and its rebelling against you.  Give it a few days and see what happens. If your headaches dont get better take it from someone who has suffered from migraines for over 15 years, seek your drs advice! Hugs CIndy

Did your doctor prescribe your diet? If not, you might want to do some healthy meal replacements instead of just complete fast of liquids. The meal replacements are liquid,  but have all needed nutrients and vitamins while still being very low calorie and allowing great weight loss. If you have been used to having caffeine, withdrawl from that will definitely give most people headaches....but it will pass. Also, if you have any allergies, all the things blooming and wind blowing all the time may be causing you grief. I hope your headache goes away quickly!

Well, I've been on almost 4 different versions of the diet from my dr.s office for the past 5 weeks, and I'm not a caffeine person, so I don't think it's a caffeine headache. I don't know why I didn't even think about allergies, I have them every year, but it just didn't occur to me that it might be allergies lol. Then again it might be because i had to turn on my heater last night too, and it's a gas wall heater. hmmm, who knows, hopefully it will go away.

Excedrin Migraine  works best for my headaches. I was really surprised that it worked so well when I started taking it a couple of years ago  for headaches.(Just remember that it has aspirin, tylenol, and caffeine in it.) I also take Zyrtec for allergies and since it's over the counter now with generic available, it makes it easer on the wallet. I hope  your headaches go away soon!

Michelle, It could be a combination of things. The main thing is to just stick it out until those pre-op pounds are off. You can do this. I have faith in you. Rita

I'm thinking more and more that it might be allergies, because I go and walk at the town lake, with all the trees and flowers, it's beautiful, but very pollenated lol. so I went to walmart and got some of their generic allergy and sinus. Hopefully they go away.

Michelle: My allergies are KICKING MY @$$!!!!  I was down almost all day Sunday because of all the sinus drainage pouring into my ittybitty pouch!  That made it a "GROUCHY POUCHY" again...  that did not make me a happy sista! I would say it is the allergies coupled with the change in diet.  If you can last a couple days on OTC meds, since you are preop it is a little easier, it should wear off.  If it doesn't call your NUT to see if something you are eating (different) might be causing the headaches.   It may be simple.....may not...keep your food journal too so you can determine if something is triggering the headache.  I.e. the same thing happens x amount of time before you notice the headache.  Keep your headaches journaled too including the intensity, symptoms (one sided, front, back, yada).  These little gems of information might be needed if they don't stop in the next couple of days and you won't have to rethink them then. I hope this helps.  I want to detach my head from the rest of my body right now......I can't seem to find the eject button.....
