Ok, so far am almost 3 days post op.  Home from the hospital finally.  But I have the weirdest feeling when I try to drink all my liquids.  Everytime I drink anything it feels like it gathers at the bottom of my throat.  Then when I stand up I swear I can feel it fall.  Very odd feeling, just wanted to know if anyone else had this same thing. Thanks everyone for the concern and the prayers.

I'm banded, but maybe you have some swelling around the espogus where it enters the stomach.

Glad you are home and things are going well.

I'm so thrilled you're home and doing well!!!!! I've read on the VSG board that a couple of people needed to either sit very straight up or stand when they eat...especially in the beginning for their food to go down well. Maybe give that a try. You're bound to be swollen, so it will probably get better every day as the swelling reduces. How was your hospital stay? Congratulations on having your surgery done and being on the bench! I hope to follow you in just a little over 2 weeks. ; )
Blessings and Best Wishes! Shelly

Welcome home darlin.  Yeah I have felt the same thing and actually did a sort of dump this morning cause I drank too fast and got a big air pocket in my chest.  Man did it hurt like hell.  Drink small sips and keep several bottles in the fridge handy so that when one goes warm you can switch to a cold one from the fridge.  At least thats what I do.  Good luck in protecting that pouch over the next couple of weeks,  Rest up, you deserve it.

Welcome to the other side. You will expierence many different feelings in the weeks to come. Everything that you ingest for a while will need to be done very slowly. It does get better.

I'm glad you are home and doing well.  I am 8 months out and I can still feel things go down to my stomach.

I also had the VSG. The same thing happened to me, it gets better, but it still happens, especially if I take sip bigger than it should be - that's how I know it was too big  But when you are first out it happens more often and even with tiny sips. And yes, I do feel liquids going down my esophagus all the time.....it's not a big deal to me, I find it kind of fascinating, but then this whole journey has been truly amazing to me. Good luck, and let me know if you have any questions - Anna

There is a lot of strange sensations and sounds now. If I lay down to soon after eating or drinking I have air bubbles that work there way up. So strange to fill this.
