For some reason I can't think of what I need to take with me to the hospital. I have packed comfy clothes for the 5 hour car ride home.  I have my night gown and robe with matching house shoes, chap-stick, shampoo and conditioner.  But I can't think of what else I need??????

I forgot a hair brush.  The shower...oh that was the best.  I almost felt human again...but I really would rather have had my hairbrush.  They found me a comb...but ouch!!! My head was a little mad at me.

That's pretty much it except for toothpaste, toothbrush, makeup, deodorant, hairspray, etc etc. I brought my own pillow and blanket. That helps out alot. Kinda makes you feel at home. You wont really need anything to keep you busy because you will hopefully be resting. Most important things is comfy clothes.

I'm planning on taking my MP3 player with some good audiobooks on it. Also, hubby and I are taking along a laptop computer since the rooms have free wireless internet. I don't know if I'll feel up to using the computer, but I know hubby will. My surgeon is planning on keeping me 2 nights in the hospital instead of 1 because of my other illnesses. So, just in case I'm feeling great, I'm taking along some entertainment to pass the time. ; )
Blessings and Best Wishes! Shelly

I took a robe (never even used it), flip flops (never used them since they gave me some non-slip socks to wear, toothpaste, deodorant,  chapstick (a Godsend), a book to read (read very little), and a deck of cards so I could play cards with my buddies when they came by to see me.  When I wasnt resting I was up walking or watching cable tv.  I would recommend a pillow or two to take with ya, and yes a blanket would have been so nice.

I love this topic.  Thanks for posting.  I am wondering if they will let you out of their gown after surgery and let you wear your own sweat pants and a t shirt?  If so, that is what I will be taking.  Don't forget underwear too.  (Its the little things that really matter....hehehe)

You can change into anything that you want to, when you want to at Foundation Bariatric Hospital.

The morning after surgery they came to get me to shower, and I changed into my own clothes. Take soft yoga pants or anything elastic waisted that you can either push under the belly button or roll the waistband down on so the lower incision doesn't rub.

For me I did not take my own gown..it would be useless cause they want axcess to your tummy. As for the list  I took toothpaste, tooth brush, hair brush, my laptop, cell phone and charger, robe, slippers, deodorant, comfy clothes to ride home in, and lip balm plus I also took protein meal replacements with me and of course lotion hair shampoo and my pillow. But I learned after the first stay forget lotion, shampoo, and bath soap.. you can bet it from the nurse.
being healthy has its rewards....take the challenge and just do it
