I love you guys!
I just wanted to let you guys know that I love all of you! The first thing I do and the last thing I do every day is come here to see how all of you are doing.
If I don't talk to you directly, please don't take that as I don't care! I do and I am just trying not to spread myself to thin! Too many things to do and too little time!
Keep up the good work and know that I am always around if you need me!!

diana - the OH support group leader program is a basic certification program - free - that is nationwide across OH. Our program offers their own support groups, but some do not so this is an opportunity for people to learn all they need to know to support bariatric patients.
dr keller and i are working to put together some satellite support groups for the outlying areas. we have patients all over the state (and into the entire region actually) that cannot get into the city for regular support group meetings. this will give us the opportunity to start up groups within their communities and also to develop a support group "team" of sorts. these will basically function outside of weightwise but with WW support. because WW is working towards being a Center of Excellence there are some parameters about support groups that they will have to follow - one being that there has to be a licensed pyschologist as a leader. (not sure of the exact wording)
i already have a proposed support group leader for the beaver/laverne area in the panhandle. WW has 10-12 surgical patients there already and the number is growing! OWLO has a group in Woodward but I know there is additional interest there from WW patients too. There is an active group in Ponca City and Stillwater as well that could use additional support.
The WW family is growing exponentially and the support group attendance is crazy big! But we also know that there are many that are not being served due to the drive time limitations. You know me - I'll go anywhere and do (just about) anything to support WW and WLS patients. I kind of feel "called" to do this.
I enjoy being at support group and I have a history of being involved in training people, so I just naturally feel this is a step for me to take.
Some of our "support" can also be on line. As soon as I get my certification completed I will have my own "group" forum that you will be invited to as well. That will be a separate place from the OK forum but I will also include that forum.
