I was wondering if anyone used Dr. Katsis and can tell me about his pre-op requirements

letter from pcp, 5 years medical history, pulmo, cardio, and psych.  You have to have all of those completed BEFORE you can schedule your first appointment with him and the nutritionist.  The NUT will put you on a diet and 4 weeks later you have to not have gained any weight to be scheduled.

I got the pulmo and cardio test scheduled and have completed the psych. I have been going to a weight doctor also to get in the 6mo supervised diet, I have 2 months left on that. Do you think I will still have to do  the NUT 4 wk diet? I was also wondering about the liquid diet I read about. Do you know how long you have to be on all liquid? Thanks for your help. I hope everything with your appeal goes quickly with good results!

The liquid diet is for five days before surgery with clear liquids only on the day before surgery.  I have a copy of the liquid diet if you want to PM me with your email address.

I don't know about the 4 week diet...  But, I had to do it.  I think everyone does...  IT is so they know you don't have a month of "last meals" while they are getting approval and stuff.
