Hi all, Looks like I will be getting a surgery date very soon and hoping for the week of the 21st.  I see were so many talk about it being hard to get enough protein at first and I was looking into the protein bullets.  I am thinking oF ordering enough for a couple of weeks post surgery.  Has anyone tried them and how do they taste?  Any flavor better than the next?  Also they talk like they are like liquid jello so I am also wondering if they will work as liquid diet right after surgery. Thanks for any help you can give. Sherri

They are horrible and a waste of money, go get EAS Carb Advantage protein shakes, they come in a case from Sams and are perfect on the rocks! AmyBeth

Thanks for the info.  My problem is I hate milky type products so I was looking for something non milk or creamy.  Any ideas for that?

I am not a milk person either, YUCK, but I love these, they are thin and not creamy, I do the chocolate fudge everyday, I swear by them, buy a 4 pack and try them.  Also GNC is a good place to stop and look around, it really is trial and error, because everyone's tastes are so different. AmyBeth

The choice is completely individual.  I cannot even get one of the EAS drinks down!  ICK!!!  I still have 3 of my 4 pack left in my fridge... But, I had a bullet mixed with a flavored water and couldn't even tell it was in there.  I didn't like the bullet straight (kinda like jello water and very sweet) but did like it in 20 oz water bottle.  I also didn't mind the 20 oz Isopure ready to drink clear drinks.  I've tried several flavors, can't remember which ones (red and yellow) and had no problem with them at all.  But, probably just as many people who LIKE them HATE them... You will just have to try some things and find out what works for you.

I don't do the protein bullets and those EAS advantage chocolate shakes are too dang sweet for me. I got the vanilla kind from the doc's office..and I had some approved SlimFast, but couldn't drink much of it either..plus, SlimFast makes me..umm...hang out in the bathroom.  I haven't had any problems getting in enough protein.

Thanks all for your help and suggestions.  I am dreading the 2 weeks of liquid diet more then the surgery itself.  I know it is probably mental, but I can't imagine not feeling starved on a total liquid diet for that long.  I should tell the dr. to add a few extra staples on my stomach and have it extra small.....lol Appreciate all the help......... I drink the Slim-Fast Low Card Diet Creamy Chocolate Drinks.  I was doing the EAS Myoplex drinks but found out they have WAY WAY to much carbs for my blood sugar (Im a diabetic).  During the first week of my liquid diet with no cheating, my BS was running 250.  So I called the doc and he said it was b/c of the carbs.  So now I just do the SF. I have tried the bullets, it was like drinking JELLO that is not completey set-up yet, and I thought it was way to salty.   Good luck to ya

Isopure also makes powdered drinks that are tasty but not clear.

I like the bullets-either by themselves or in water.  I do try to use the 20 something grams because I don't need 40 something grams all at once.  GNC carries them so you go get one and try it before taking it back.

They will also let you bring protein powder back if you don't like it.  A tub of isopure is 75 dollars and you'd best believe I'd bring it back if I didn't like it.
