I had Lapband on Nov. 8 and i have never regretted my decision .  I think the Lapband is like anything else you must have the determination to make it work for you .  I am doing very well with it , though the weightloss is slower than RNY .  It is a very personal choice , i hope this helps . Luanne

Debbie When I went to the mandatory educational meeting with my surgeon, I had my mine pretty well made up that I was going to get the lapband.  However, after learning about the VSG, and how much more effective it is for diabetes, I decided on that.  Not to mention, the nurse who conducted the meeting told us that she had gotten banded about 5 years ago.  She said that the band was no longer working for her, and that she had already made plans to remove the band and do the VSG.  She is about 4 weeks post-op and has lost another 25 pounds.   Hope this helps  Karen
