Surgeon visit and got my date!

I met with Dr. Lana Nelson today. She's very kind, caring, and intelligent. She had additional surgical training with a fellowship in bariatric surgery and has been in practice for a bit more than 4 years. She and Dr. Keith have done hundreds (actually about 2,000 bariatric surgeries between the two of them) of bariatric surgeries, so I know that I am in good and experienced hands. Everyone in the office was very kind and friendly. Everyone was smiling and pleasant and they made my husband and I feel very welcome and at ease. I was given a notebook with a calendar to keep all my information in an orderly manner. I'm scheduled for all my classes, additional tests, nutritionist, and psych eval, in the next few weeks. I'm completely excited and I'm officially scheduled for surgery on April 29th!!! I will be the first OWLO VSG! I'm great with that, too. I'm sure all surgeons are extra careful and attentive with their first VSG. ; ) I've got lots of instructions of things to do already. I'm ready for surgery day to hurry up and get here, too! : ) Shelly

Congrats to you on your surgery date. Everyone else is saying that it will be here b4 you know it. So I will stick with that

Did your doc talk to you about a pre-surgery diet, I'm just wondering if it is anything like what my doc went with????

Yes, I do have a 10 day pre-op diet. I know the last 3 days are liquids only, but not sure of the rest. I meet with the nutritionist on the 9th of this month for the details. I'll let you know what I find out ... as soon as I find out! ; ) Shelly
