All normal..but if you get some major pains, go to the doc..I had to have one opened and packed but that' s not common. What I did when I took my showers post op was use the soap they gave me to wash with at home and the stuff they gave me in the hospital. I used it for quite awhile to keep everything sterile, even though I didn't have to do that. It took my glue awhile to slough off. I was afraid, too.

I'm glad that you're up and about.  Welcome to the loser's bench, by the way.  Moving around is good!!!!  I'm sure your doctor was glad you were up and moving.

Well moving is best, sometimes those aches and pains are because the staff had trouble moving us from bed to bed while we were out of it! My shoulder hurt because apparantly my arm was swung the wrong way once! AmyBeth

With laproscopic surgery, it's very unlikely for an incision to separate.  With long open incisions, it's much more likely for that to happen.  It happened to me with my VBG many years ago.  Only it was one of the inside layers that came apart.  A few days after surgery I was holding a pillow against my stomach and coughing and suddenly the pillow felt wet.  The liquid had seeped thru my outside incision.  A few hours later, I went back into surgery to close it up again.  Luckily, I was still in the hospital when that happened.  They used to keep you almost a week back then.
