Clothing: Bargains and good places to shop
Ok, I posted about my TH capris in another post. I should have clarified those came from eBay.
In rapidly changing sizes, clothing is an issue. I refuse to blow the budget on new clothes until I stabilize in size. My all time favorite jeans were from Lane Bryant: Venezia, Easy Fit. I glory in the fact that I don't need easy fit for my thunder thighs that still thunder! LOL
I shop the following stores:
1. Karen's Kloset in Guthrie. She's a plus size consignment shop that used to be located in downtown Edmond on Second Street. They're now on the corner of Division and...can't remember. If you take the first Guthrie exit as you're going up I-35 from Edmond and follow that to Divison, you'll find her. She has great stuff, and has a $2 rack. She has accessories, dress clothes, evening wear, jeans, tops, lingerie, etc...whatever is consigned. Right now she has an accessory sale on (I think). All prices are very reasonable.
2. Anne's Resale Shop in Edmond on Broadway. She has all sizes, but does have a plus size section including some jeans.
3. eBay. I am an eBay addict. I have purchased TH jeans and capris, Rocket Dog shoes, etc. for dirt cheap. These TH capris I have on today cost me $6 including shipping.
4. Hope Outreach in Enid on North Van Buren Street across from Long John Silvers. All purchases from this HUGE thrift store go toward funding programs in the community such as resources for unwed young mothers.
I can't sew, and I have a plus size SIL and MIL...my daugher is a small with a cute figure. So, I do hand me ups to the inlaws. What doesn't fit goes to Hope Outreach in Enid since that's where they live.
There is also a plus size consignment shop on Broadway in Edmond, it is just north of The Edmond Sun office on 2nd and Broadway, though I can't remember exactly what street it is on. The have lots of really good stuff and I don't think they go over $10 a piece, though most are a couple of dollars...Great place!
LOL Our postman says, "Boy you get a lot of packages!" My husband said, "Yeah..she eBays."
But it's not all clothes...it's car parts, too..and shoes..and...lotsa stuff.
I was in Sears tonight getting Dr. Rey's Shapewear which was recommended over Spanx by someone on the main boards, and saw the most adoreable dress ever..tried it on and it fit! Sears has really gotten some cute stuff in..I wouldn't go in because it all wasn't anything that I'd wear..they've really done wonders lately.
OH, and that Shapewear...simply amazing..don't know where it puts the hangly danglies...but they aren't danglin anymore!
I have turned into a shop-a-holic since I have started losing. My closet is packed and I need a bigger house...no kidding.....I have turned my food addiction into shopping I believe....lol.... Anyway I am addicted to NBC (Name Brand Clothing) at Britton Road and Penn..... Go to www.halfofhalf.com if you sign up you can get a 5.00 off coupon on your next visit. I buy blouses for as low as 49 cents... no kidding... I can buy clothes there cheaper than a garage sale. I hope this helps....
