Prayers going up this morning, spoke to him a bit last night while I was at the gym and then went home and fell asleep so I didn't get to call him back last night, he sounded great!  Only at 4:30 yesterday he found out he had another $1100 expense he had not been informed of or they would reschedule the surgery, so he had to pay buy credit card real quick, he was a little upset but going to deal with it later! Prayers for you my friend Dan! AmyBeth

I talked with him later in the evening and he was on a roller coaster of emotion.  I understood completely!  He went out late to a movie after 9:00 or so and I didn't hear from him any more last night.  I am sure things are going well.  Between the two of us we'll hear from him later.  I'll call him later this evening after he is lucid again.  Darn - I wish I had some of the good stuff right now!!  teehee! I've been praying for Dan, too. I'm anxious to hear he's out of surgery and doing great. Maybe not too much longer....      Shelly

what is the average time it takes for the surgery?

The surgery (RNY) lasts anywhere from 1 1/2 to 2 hours.  They actually book the OR for 3 hours, so it could take that long.  After my surgery, I was in the recovery room for 5 hours because they were waiting for an ICU room to open up.  This was at Baptist, OKC.

Rita - I haven't seen him in a couple weeks.  We were supposed to get together last weekend, but things have changed a little bit on that front.  I'll tell you about it later.  Yeah - I think he is down to 268 or so.  So that is I think around 110 or 115 lbs gone.  Long story....but yes, he is doing well.   :-)

My surgery took 45 minutes. My family said they thought I'd never wake up! LOL Keeping good thoughts going Wolf's way. Cricket, thanks for the update on Russell. I'm glad to hear he's doing OK. We bonded at the WW clinic because we know people in common.

Cricket...Rita...could probably tell you better than I,,,, but my surgery didn't take that long at all.  I'm thinking it was 45 minutes to an hour also.  Dr. B and Dr. Walton have it down. They are bariatric super surgeons!
