Hi Cory, Welcome to the Oklahoma Boards. The best advice I can give you is to just take one day at a time. Keep sipping on your liquids. Have you tried the approved protein drinks yet? The first two weeks are hard. Sugar free pop sickles helped me alot. They make you feel like you are actually eating something because of the crunch. The protein drinks help too because they make you feel  fuller longer. You can do it, I know you can.... My full liquids was at Christmas time. It was really hard, but I just kept thinking about the end results.

It's too bad the surgery doesn't fix our brains too. LOL. I'm glad that you aren't hurting. Don't let yourself get to the point that you are though. It's okay to take the medication if you are hurting. Stop by and see us when you come to see Dr. Broussard. Best of luck and if you need anything just give me a shout, Rita

Congratulations on your successful surgery and I'm thrilled you're feeling so very good! I haven't had surgery yet, so I don't have any words of wisdom about the satisfaction of fluids, but I'm so happy for you. I hope you feel better and better every single day as you get healthier and healthier!    Shelly

Cory; I went through exactly the same thing. It's head hunger and it will play tricks on you for most of the two weeks liquid stage. It gets 100% better when you start eating soft foods.  One thing that helped me was the Atkins Advantage shakes, those are one of the approved protein shakes that you are able to have now, and they don't taste too bad (and I don't like shakes!)- the Chocolate Royale is my favorite. I know, it is still a liquid, but it does fill you up, in fact during my liquid stage I could only drink 1/2 can at a time. This is the toughest stage, everything going forward will be easier.  Keep positive, keep busy, so as not to think about food too much...the two weeks go by faster than you think!

SF fudge pops.  My mom and sister both had open RNY and that got them through it.  It's also what I'm counting on getting me through my surgery in 2 weeks. Congrats on a successful surgery.

Sounds like you are doing good man, besides the hunger pangs.  I am on day 3 of my 4 day pre-diet and I am just doing what the ladies said...drinking like a camel.  I cant have the SF fudge popcicles yet but will be looking forward to them afterwards.  Good luck to you bud.

Congratulations on your surgery. The head hunger does not quit. I wish there was a tool for it. Lots of water/liquids popcicles and jello.
