I post this every so often-I'd still like to go riding sometime.  I don't have a horse, but would love to meet someone at a rental stable.  I know there is one at draper and there are probably ones at other lakes I don't know about.

(I haven't been on a horse in 20 years so don't worry about your lack of expertise)

I used to ride and compete all of the time.  It's one thing that I look forward to doing after I have surgery!

Yay!  Maybe some day we'll ride together.  I'm more of a trail riding sedate kind of gal....

Oh I only competed in the 'sedate' classes...western pleasure and such.  Besides the clothes looked a lot cooler (lots of "bling") LOL.  I'm down to 4 horses from 11 but none of the broodmares are broke to ride :(

Once I get some of this weight off (don't want to overburden the horse), I would LOVE to go riding!!!  I haven't ridden in a LONG time.  Good Idea....I live close to Draper and I think I know where you're talking about. Keep me informed!!!

BTW horse back riding (general) burns 4.18 calories a minute and is good for your core muscles.

Sounds like a good reason.....(as if I needed one).  I'm serious......I want to go.

OMG, I'd love to go! We had horses when I was a kid, and I get homesick for the smell of a sweaty horse. I've promised myself I'll have one in a few years when we retire and move back home. We went riding on our honeymoon at Taos, NM. I didn't know there were places here. I'd love to!

allrighty then-what days/times work for you?  I can't go on Monday or Wednesday afternoons.  Everything else I can pretty much work around.

The Draper Lake riding stable is about 3 miles east of 1:35 in the Moore/Norman area.

My school schedule 'til May will be VERY tight.  I won't be able to go until May.  that will also give me time to drop some pounds for the poor horses.  I won't get on a horse unless I'm under 200.  Even then, I would worry about being too big.  I can make time whenever after that.  I do work and go to school, but I don't know by true schedule until later.
