Jello and Popcicle Questions

Well I need to start my 4 day diet tomorrow for my surgery.  The list says SF Jello and Popcicles.  I wanted to ask though, can I have SF Jello pudding or is it just the wobble wobble (for lack of better words) Jello?  Also since I was told to not have anything with red or purple dye, does that apply to the Jello and Popcicles too or just my drinks?  The only SF Popcicles I found at Wal-Mart last night were in a combo box of Red, Purple, and Orange so I didnt buy them.  I did see some generic brand ones for like $1.75 a package that had several colors.

Dan, is it a full liguid diet? I'm not sure about your Dr. but with mine it meant wobbly jello only, no Jello pudding. Also the red and purple applies to all things red and purple. Hope you take full advantage of your last day of freedom. I wish you the best of luck, Rita

Thanks Rita I figured it did but I just wanted to make 100% sure.  I guess I will eat a couple of the pudding Jellos today then, lol.

Dan, you can make popsicles by putting crystal light in a dixie cup and freezing it with a stick or a spoon in it.  I did that when I had the flu, wanted a popsicle and didn't want to drive.  In fact, I also made a gatorade popsicle that was pretty tasty as well (but gatorade has sugar in it).

I was able to eat pudding but it is up to your Dr. I was able to eat red and purple popcicles. That is a good idea though about making your own.

Red and purple interfere with the dye that our docs use after surgery to check for leaks, etc. because it's red or blue..don't remember which color. It was 24 hours for me because the date and the finances all hit like crazy and I didn't know about the day before thing. Fortunately, I was in close contact with the hospital surg nurses who told me what to do...in the nick of time before I had a big old glass of iced tea...which is now decaf and not Crystal LIght....I don't get it...loved Crystal LIght tea and others before...still tastes weird..

The Crystal Light popsicles are a great idea---I'll have to make some soon.  Gatorade has a new drink with less sugar---I think it's G2.
