I've heard that we will NEVER be able to have those again.  I've also heard that we will be able to drink them, once their flat.  So....I don't know.

Carbonation can stretch our new little pouches.  I have also heard that diet drinks make you hungrier.  I do take a sip of pop occasionally just to remember what it is like.  Oh yeah, we (Dr. Katsis's patients) can't have much caffiene either, it dehydrates you.  Sorry! Michelle

People do it, but we are not suppossed to. Seems risky to me. If we have been off this long, why risk starting back IMAO.

I accidentally drank some carbonated drink (WalMart flavored waters, did not notice it was carbonated water) and it burned my throat and made my pouch feel funny!  That one time was enough. However,  I have heard that you might tolerate a little bit once your a year out.  I was a diet pepsi freak, but I've gotten over it.

Te*****ally speaking soft drinks are a not allowed. But you ca drink them flat if you choose. I do know some posties that do drink soft drinks at least once a day if not more. Matter of fact I am one of them. I get a 20 ounce and shake it till its flat and then sip...I just make sure I drink 30 ounces of water to compensate. I did try the diep dr pepper freeze pops not the same thing.
being healthy has its rewards....take the challenge and just do it

I'm planning on decaffeinated tea with a little Splenda. I drink it now, but have given up carbonated and caffeine drinks. I hope the craving passes for you. Maybe some good tea will help?   Shelly

When my DH is having a Dr. Pepper, I will have a couple of sips of his drink.  I don't believe in deprivation.  When I crave something, I have a little bit of it.  Everything in moderation!

I had my first taste of diet coke since surgery the other day.  It was nasty nasty nasty.  I very  much enjoy teas of all types and crystal light now.
