Newbie
Thanks everyone. Hey are there any clothing banks in the Tulsa area. I have a very professional job, and one thing that is really concerning me is having the clothes while loosing the weight. My sister (although) was quite a bit larger than me, and had the RNY, lost weight so fast that if she bought an outfit, a week later is was way to big. I have tried to check out some consignment shops in my area, so far I havent been able to find anything. I also looked at the clothing exchange list, and there is not a lot on it. ANY IDEAS?

I was not nervous, scared, or anything....even when I was wheeled into the OR waiting room and I met the anthestilogists. I was like this is kinda a cool place...literally it was cold! Then Dr. Hill and head nurse Red came over and talked to me telling me he was going to give me some happy halloween candy..I just looked at him and said no thanks doc..I cant have candy he laughed and said then some happy drugs...I smiled held out my arm and said shoot away...and in the OR I went. I remember looking at Dr Hill and saying goodnight gracie and telling Red he needed to sang me a lullabye. I drifted off to sleep listening to Red singing. Then in recovery and being asked what my name was..and I told the nurse gee wiz cant you read its on my arm band..then I am wheeling down the hall into the elevator to my room...

OH MY GOSH PATTYE!!! You sound like my kinda gal! We definately need to be friends. You are cracking me up and I am have a very growly day! I don't know if I'm pmsing or what but everybody just seems to be rubbing me wrong. So, know what I am going to do about it? I am going to take my big rump to a dance aerobics class. LOL! I am going to wear myself out so much I can't do anything but come home and roll myself into bed! Anyway, just thought I would tell you that there is nothing like laughter for the best medicine.Hugs~Joni
Ty very much! I always find humor in everything I do. I have been into the Or 4 times since my RNY so I am kinda "famous" at Norman Regional Hospital... the staff there never know what to expect from me. From coping a feel with the antheslogist to singing the blues when going under. Hope you have a good evening....and remember Smile it makes people wonder what you are up to...

Welcome to the boards Karen. I love it here on these boards and have learned so much talking to everyone here. These folks are just another tool in the toolbox of weight loss and I love them all and couldn't do it without them. Feel free to ask any of us anything.

Welcome to the board. Nice to meet ya. I wasn't scared until they were transferring me from pre-op bed to the table.
As far as clothes go, Karen's Closet has been my friend. They are in Guthrie having recently moved from Edmond. They are a plus size consignment store. Anne's Resale in Edmond is also good, but is higher priced and not as much plus size.
Finally, eBay is also fantastic. Currently, I'm loving my Tommy Hilfiger boyfriend jeans...a wow moment for me!
Joie is doing okay. She got married and divorced last year, not the best of times for her. But she has met someone who hopefully will make her happy. Total she has lost over 320 lbs. She needs to have her skin removal surgeries. She doesnt take her vitamins like she should, so she has had some problems. I am having the VSG done in Dallas on 4/9. I am beginning to think that the day will never get here. I guess I better get back to work.
