Newbie
Welcome to the Oklahoma Board. It is normal to be scared and nervous before surgery. I wasn't scared or nervous until they were wheeling me away from my DH and mom into the operating room. I'm two weeks out from lap band surgery.
This is a great board to be on and some very helpful people that will encourage and support you in the good times as well as in the bad times.
Best wishes for your surgery and come back her often so we can get to know you.

I really wasn't nervous until I was laying on the operating table looking at the light (the room light, not the one when you die) and thinking "Oh crud, I'm about to be knocked unconcious in Mexico-what the heck AM I doing????" But the drugs were good so my next thought was "Oh, well, too late to worry about it now....." and the next thing I know I'm getting off the table and going to the restroom thinking "well, I made it this far....."
Thanks everyone for your kind words and your support. I'm glad I found this website, I have been looking for something that I can talk to other people who are going through the same thing that I am. I am having my surgery in Dallas, does anyone know anything about Dr James Davidson. Thats who my surgeon is?
Thanks again
Karen

Good luck to you! I know what you mean by nervous and scared, but still excited. I have mine scheduled for a couple of weeks after yours. Good luck to you!
Welcome, welcome!
I am hoping to have the lapband soon, and have recently become addicted to this site. LOL! No, really there are great people on here all in different stages of their WLS journey. I wish you the best of luck and if you have quesions about your doctor, or want opinions on him, go into the texas forum and make a post about it. I'm sure someone on there has probably at least heard of him. Another thing, you can go to "find a bariatric surgeon" at the top of this page, click on texas, and then look him up there. They usually have reviews or info about the docs there. Thats how I did some of my research. Anyway, if there's anything I/ we can do, just ask. Good luck and congrats, Joni
