OT: Possible Move to OK

Hi Janessa I live in lawton and my husband retired from Ft Sill. Will be happy to answer any questions about the area that I can. we have been here for about 16 years. Home was CA for me but I quess it is now Ok. crazy.eights

Crazy.eights-    Thanks for the reply. As of yesterday it is no longer a "possible" move. We got our orders and his report date is June 10th so now the real fun begains! LOL.  He has been in the Army for 5 years and Lewis is our first and only post, so this is our first PCS move and I have no clue where to began. I have been reading alot about  lawton and alot of it has not been good. Would it be a good place to live? What other towns are around fort sill? How about aparments? I have not been able to find one online at all. We have decided that we would fly out in April to do a "re-con" mission. LOL. Well thanks again for any advice. Janessa

Janessa Welcome to OK. Lawton  is the largest town around Ft Sill.  the other towns are small and a little bit of a drive to work. Lots of people live in Elgin or Cache. Are first base was also Ft Lewis. We were sent to Ft Sill twice in his 20 years and ended up staying here Kids didn't want leave. I have never liked living in apartments so don't know much about them. there are lots of new ones being built for the new people coming for Brac. Right now I see lots of rentals around but in June it could be different. there are 2 houses on my block now for rent. You can log on to most of the rental offices and see what is available. If you want I can tell you which parts of town you don't want to live in.If you come in April would be glad to show you arould. crazy.eights
