Carrie, I don't know the answer to your question, but if your surgery is tomorrow I want to wish you great success! I'm working toward having VSG eventually. I'm scheduled to attend the WeightWise seminar on the 25th. I know many people are very successful with the LapBand, but it was not an option for me for medical reasons.. After doing quite a bit of research I'm going with a VSG, hopefully in the not-to-distant future. I hope tomorrow goes very smoothly for you and that you have a quick recovery and great weight loss!  Shelly

Carrie or Dave - What's up?  Are you having surgery today or decided to postpone?  Did you change plans from the VSG? Just wanted to check up and see that everyone is OK today. John

Hey John this is Carrie, I would like to thank you for helping. You have been great. We did rescedual my surgery for the 19th not far off at all. 2 DAYS. Dave and I decided together that the band would be best for me. I have 70-80 pounds to lose and I think the band will work for me. I am very strong minded and have lost 120 pound before, I can do it again. Keeping it off is my problem. I lost that weight on my own. With that in mind I think the band would be all together safer and just for ME.  I wish you the best of luck!!!! The sleeve has awsome results. Please keep in touch. We would like to no how things turn out for you aswell. All of our minds are at rest now and the excitment is comming forth again thanks for caring!!!! see ya

Glad to hear that everything is working out!   In doing all my research, it seems like any of the surgeries can provide the tool required, as long as you have enough determination to use the tool, and the support to keep you on track.  Sounds like now you have both lined up, so you should do great! I'll keep posting here on the OK board as I go along, so you should be able to see my progress.  Hopefully by the first part of May I will have surgery and be well on my way forward. Good luck with surgery on Wednesday.  I'll keep you both in my prayers until we hear a post-surgery report that you are up and doing well! John

Hi John, this is Dave. Yes I am behind carrie 100% now. In doing my research and some intence, in depth talks with carrie, we both decided lap band was the best thing for her. I was not about to tell her what she was going to do (and there is a lot more to this part of the story), but after days of long talks and emotions, i felt like she really wanted the lap band and this is the one I thought was best for her too. I am now very excited and I am planning to go on the liquid diet for the first two weeks with carrie to aid in her support. To be honest, I think I will have an easer time with that than carrie will because of the way I have trained myself with my eating habbits. Hungry to me tells me its time to eat a big glass of milk, empty tells me I need more fluids, and if I start to feel run down, I know I better eat something. I get up durring meals to let more time go by and I pick and play with my food. I trained myself that way because if I didn't, I too would probably be over weight and looking at surgary. The down side for me is sometimes I loose too much weight. Right now I could stand to loose 30 pounds from the holidays, so the liquid diet will not hurt me. Anyway, Carrie is telling me that she can't wait to start thinking like I do, and I beleave I will be a very good tool for her to use also. She is going to do awsome and now I just can't wait for her to start feeling better about herself. Carrie and I will be checking up on you from time to time and our prayers are with you too.         Dave

the point of the lapband is to restrict the amount of food you eat but more importantly to make you feel satisfied , and not hungry , if you are feeling hunger you will know it is time for a fill, please feel free to email me here if you have any questions , i would be happy to help you .  I have had the lapband for 4 months and i am very happy.

Carrie good luck to you on Wednesday.  Both of you continue to stay in touch here on the site and ask anything you might need to ask.  This group is a Godsend and I thank Him everyday I found this site and have the support I have here.
