Hi Shelly,  Welcome!!! I was asked to lose 60 lbs before surgery, this is not based on 10%, but on the fact that my BMI was 68 I think and Dr. Brousard wanted it at 60. Originally my choice was RNY, but I changed my mind and went with the VSG. In the end I lost 52 lbs pre-op and he was ok with that. I think 10% is what is normally required, but you do get a lot of help on losing this weight form the Weightwise staff. You wil be in great hands. Good luck, Anna

Shelly, I am doing great, and the surgery was a breeze, much, much better than I had anticipated. I feel much more energetic now, I even sleep better. I know I still have a long way to go, but so far it has been just wonderful.

Thank you. We lost 3 in 8 months and it nearly did me in. We have decided to stop at the two we have and be happy. How many kids to you have?

We have two grown children that have fledged the nest. I had 3 miscarriages before we ever had a baby to hold. Hold them as much as you can because they grow up so very fast! We are lucky that both of our children live in the metro area. We're hoping for grandbabies some day! I hope you're enjoying the weekend and have a great upcoming week! Shelly
