Angiogram results

Well, I had my angiogram yesterday and Dr. Ghani said I had no blockage!  He said he would send the cardiac clearance to Dr. Broussard right away.  I have a follow up next Wed. and if I've lost close to the 14 pounds I still need to lose, they may set a surgery date!!! The angiogram was awful.  They tried to go in through the groin but couldn't find the artery, so they went into my arm.  Then sent me home in an arm splint and told me not to bend it or it would bleed and if it did to call 911 or I would bleed to death.  That's just what my hypocondriac mind needed to hear, so I was in a panic for two days about bending my arm and bleeding to death!  LOL I'm just grateful that it's all over now.  I have a diet class this afternoon and that should meet all of the requirements except for the 14 more lbs. I have to lose.  I can't wait to get on the loser's bench with everyone else.

Congratulations.  I also had a false stress test showing possible blockage in 2006 and went thru heart cath.  Luckily, it sounds, they were able to go thru groin.  Turned out "due to fatty breast area" the imaging was wrong, no blockages at all, real good pressures. Don't have to worry about that anymore, the girls are rapidly deflating!  Oh well, they were too big anyways. It will be very soon that you will be joining us on the loser's bench.

Liz, glad everything was fine with the test.  I had cardio clearance also but Dr. Broussard has me giving myself a shot for 10 days in order to reduce any possibility of blood clots.  Tomorrow is my last shot.  It really isn't that bad.  My mom gave them to me the first 5 days after coming home and I have given them to myself this week.  It doesn't even hurt.  Keep up the great work on the losing phase and you will be on the bench with us.  We will save you a seat.
  Surgery date:  March 3, 2008
