Wynotha
It hasn't been as bad as I thought it would be prior to surgery. I'm on the down hill slide of my first liquid week and one more to go. I had to admit that I'm ready for some chewing on mushy food. I'm chewing my SF jello in order to not feel chew deprived. The soreness is lifting until today and I have found new sore spots. I think I may have overdone it today. I took my mom to the prosthetic man, went shopping at Catherines for some smaller clothes to "get to" soon, went to a drive thru Chinese restaurant to get her some lunch and me some egg drop soup (I strained the egg out) and finally my DH brought over our 10 month old granddaughter for a visit. I'm pooped!!!
My niece and her family are coming up late tomorrow afternoon and leaving on Sunday so I will have a 3 and 5 yr old here for a visit. Next week, I will be by myself and hope that I'm feeling stronger so I can get some hobby stuff done.
I appreciate your asking about me. I hope you are feeling better now.

Wow girl, take it easy!
I'm taking a quilting class later on this month-it's freaking me out cause I am soooooo not a sewer-but it's my daring brave thing to do. I'll play with snakes-but a quilting class-nooooooo.
I love Catherines-and I just bought her smallest size. I have a liz claiborne fetish, and her half price sales (Catherines') are awesome!
Take it easy girlfriend , the thing i found was the port site takes forever to heal because it is sewn into the muscle , so be aware of that . Dr. G told me it would pass and it finally did . The mushy food is the greatest !!!!! i looked forward to that too. You are doing great keep it up , but relax and take it easy this week . See ya soon , Lu

Where are you taking the class? I love to quilt. Next week if I'm up to it, I'm putting a hanging sleeve on an OU quilt I made for a co-worker and planning on finishing up a baby quilt for my granddaughter. I also love to scrapbook and want to get caught up on that also. I will be by myself all next week so I'm going to try to get some things done.
I took my quilting class at Francis Tuttle a few years ago. I'm not great, but it is cheaper than therapy for me and I don't think about eating either.
I would love to see your quilt when you're done.

Wynotha, monitor your soreness. I don't know if it's constant or not. I wasn't sore until I got home and the next morning I felt like I was on fire. I thought, ok..we've rerouted the insides, I'll be sore..I'll walk it off like I did the hysterectomy. Wrong. I had an infection on the left side where all the instruments go in and out. Once he opened the incision again, I had instant relief and wanted to kiss his feet. Cricket and others packed me, and I'm happy to say that it's long since healed over.
All I'm trying to say is, monitor that pain, girlfriend and be careful not to overdue it. My energy finally came back in December, and that was when I started feeling like me again.
Add some SF popsicles into that diet, too. I really enjoyed those.
Deb, quiltworks is great. I've taken a few classes there also. You will have a lot of fun.
I'm taking it easy today. In fact, I'm still in my gown. My incisions look great and I have no fever. My soreness is moving down lower so hopefully it is on its way out. I just ate a SF popsicle - Strawberry and it was really good.
I'm off to take a morning nap and then up for another walk.
